Principle Of Methanol Cracking Hydrogen Production MachineMethanol
hydrogen production involves mixing methanol and water in a
specific ratio and subjecting the mixture to superheated steam
under controlled temperature and pressure conditions, with the
presence of a catalyst. This process leads to simultaneous
catalytic cracking and carbon monoxide shift reactions, resulting
in the formation of a mixed gas containing hydrogen and carbon
dioxide. The produced gas is then passed through a pressure swing
adsorption unit for separation and purification, yielding
high-purity hydrogen as the final product. The main
reactions involved in methanol hydrogen production are as follows:
Methanol (CH3OH) undergoes catalytic cracking, converting it into
carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen gas (H2) while releasing energy.
Additionally, carbon monoxide reacts with water (H2O) through the
carbon monoxide shift reaction, resulting in the formation of
carbon dioxide (CO2) and more hydrogen gas. The overall
reaction combines these processes, transforming methanol and water
into carbon dioxide and three molecules of hydrogen gas, with the
release of energy. Through the separation and purification
processes, the final product obtained is highly pure hydrogen
