850nm Evoa with Low Polarization Dependent Loss

1  DESCRIPTION 1.1 Product Function Zg introduces a new miniature variable attenuator for application in either the C or L band. The attenuator offers excellent wavelength dependence and ripple, low polarization dependent loss (PDL), and improved thermal stability. The attenuator provides an economical solution to managing optical power. Reflective optics permit same-side jumper exit and enable easy panel mounting. The attenuator uses an advanced graded neutral density filter as its attenuating element. Adjustment is through a stepper motor with feedback control terminal. The driver for the stepper motor moves the motor up or down in uniform step sizes, offering fine resolution. Latching operation is a standard feature; upon removal of the drive voltage, the most recent attenuation setting is retained. An optional resistance readout for filter location purposes is available. The schematic figure of the attenuator is shown in figure 1.Figure 1 Functional Scheme1.2 Product Application 1.3 Related Product List 2  OPTIC AND/OR ELECTRIC SPECIFICATION 2.1 Optical SpecificationsNO.PARAMETERSPECIFICATIONUNITSNOTEMIN.TYP.MAX.2.1.1Wavelength range 800-1100 nm  2.1.2Attenuation range 30  dB  2.1.3 Response speed @3dB AdjustAttenuation resolution   100 ms Driven in voltage mode 2.1.4 Attenuation resolution   0.2 dB  Full Step 2.1.5 Latching stability   0.3  dB Based on motor power ON to OFF 2.1.6 Insertion loss   1.0 dB With connector, over wavelength rang. 2.1·.7 Attenuation line linearity   5 % 30db@±0.5db 2.1.7 Repeatability   0.1 dB Difference in attenuation on return to a particular attenuation from a random location approaching from the same direction.
